Chennai’s rain gets a market price: NCDEX launches RAINCHNNAI weather derivatives futures contract

NCDEX launched RAINCHNNAI, a futures contract allowing market participants to hedge Chennai’s Northeast Monsoon risks. Utilizing a Cumulative Deviation Rainfall model, it complements the RAINMUMBAI contract, providing a complete monsoon risk management cycle from June through December.
