Japanese government bonds extended their selloff on Wednesday as hawkish signals from the Bank of Japan strengthened expectations of a near-term rate hike. The five-year JGB yield hit a record 2.295%, while the 10-year yield rose to 3.01%, as investors also weighed rising global yields, higher government borrowing and fiscal spending plans. Strategists expect continued pressure on JGBs, with some forecasting the 10-year yield could reach 3.2% in October.
